Giving Feedback: Further Research
This week I wrote about giving feedback. But how good are we at receiving feedback? Am I demonstrating the kind of receptiveness to feedback that I expect of others (even if they are not as good at giving it)? Receiving feedback elicits a lot of responses. Understanding those responses in ourselves helps us to understand the same responses in others. Our response to feedback is what actually determines most of the value of feedback. For these reasons, and others, I recommend: “Thanks for the Feedback” (2015) by Douglas Stone and Sheila Heen.
